There are moments in life that pass quietly, almost unnoticeably, and yet they change everything.
During a recent coaching session, one of those moments returned to me with surprising clarity. I was twelve years old—just a girl, standing in a room where something inside me was quietly collapsing. No one shouted. There was no dramatic scene. But I walked away carrying a belief I didn't consciously choose:
That how I felt didn’t matter.
That my voice wasn’t worth listening to.
That being quiet, small, and agreeable was safer than being real.
I didn’t know then that these moments can live on inside us, tucked away in the corners of our body and spirit. But as I sat in session—held in a space that was safe and honest—I felt it.
The ache.
The tightness.
A bowling ball lodged right in the center of my chest. Dense, heavy, unmoving.
And for the first time, I let myself really feel it. Not analyze it. Not explain it away. Just be with it.
We explored the belief I had formed, and the pain it carried. I allowed my younger self to be seen—really seen—and something started to shift.
The weight that had felt so solid began to move. And in a moment that was as unexpected as it was beautiful, the image of the bowling ball changed.
It became a white dove.
Light. Airborne. Radiant.
In that moment, I didn’t just understand the idea of emotional transformation—I experienced it. The pain that had once silenced me turned into something that lifted me. Not because I forced it to, but because I allowed it space.
This dove didn’t erase what had happened. It didn’t pretend the pain wasn’t real. It simply reminded me that healing is possible—and that peace is not something we chase, but something we uncover when we create space for the truth.
And the truth is:
My emotions matter.
I matter.
That session reminded me that we all carry our own bowling balls—old stories, outdated beliefs, wounds that have never had the chance to breathe. But they don’t have to stay lodged inside of us forever.
They can shift.
They can lift.
They can transform.
And when they do, the peace that takes their place is indescribably powerful.
If you’re feeling the weight of something you can’t quite name, or you’re ready to stop carrying what was never truly yours to begin with, I invite you to book a Peace Alignment Session with me.
Let’s find out what your bowling ball is really made of—and see what’s waiting to take flight on the other side.
